Nexis MX2 is the perfect solution for large mining environments where backhaul to the site offices is required. Use a single MX2 containing one high power, high rate radio card for long distance, non-line-of-site communications and a second radio card (802.11a/b/g) to perform local meshing as with Nexis MX1.
Orders for the MX2 can now be placed for delivery in 2008.

On December 6th, iVolve presented a paper at The Industrial Wirless and Ethernet Conference 2007 in Sydney, hosted by IDC Technologies. Our Senior Engineer Matthew Lee gave a presentation on "Refining Wireless - A Case Study of Wireless Technology for Improved Metals Refining".
The conference contained a cross-section of both end-users and vendors, and was largely concerned with low-power/low-bandwidth wireless networking technologies (eg ZigBee), but there was also a place for higher-end technologies like Wi-Fi. The presentation, like the title suggests, was a case study of the recent project undertaken by iVolve, to supply a component of the wireless solution for MIPAC's new CellView product.
CellView is an application for wirelessly monitoring key parameters of the electrorefining process for metals. Nexis is used to provide mesh networking services, as well as customised functionality for communicating with a collection of wireless sensors.
The presentation was received well, with both end-users and system integrators expressing an interest in finding out more about both Nexis and the CellView product.

During the first week in November, iVolve participated in the Mining Trade Mission to China, organised by the Queensland Government. Beijing was host to the China Coal & Mining Expo which gave iVolve the perfect opportunity to further explore the potential of the Chinese market. While in Beijing, we met with a number of potential customers and partners to prom ote Nexis for use in the massive China market.
The cold weather (down to zero degrees), also gave us the perfect excuse to sit in warm restaurants to taste the delectable local cuisine.
Thanks to the organisers at the Premier's Department for a well planned trip, participation was definitely worthwhile.
