Using iVolve’s technology, the crews at Thiess mine sites are now able to monitor the mine fleet in real-time, while reducing the amount of time spent sourcing information.

“Supervisors used to spend several hours sourcing information that they can now access in minutes, using iVolve’s Production, Assets, Maintenance and Safety technology,” Thiess Australian Mining technical manager of mining engineering Ben Willey said.

“It provides our site crews with real-time data about the performance of the equipment, where previously we will only find out what the data is a couple of days after.”

PAMS enables the site to increase output, with real-time visibility of data for operators right through to mine site management. Operators are provided with screens for visual feedback during the truck loading operation. This allows supervisors to make informed decisions during a shift to improve performance.

Mr Willey said iVolve worked with Thiess to develop a tailored solution for its operations.

Currently, Thiess utilise key modules of iVolve’s PAMS solutions for production and maintenance management.

“We have been using the technology to monitor fleet productivity and to trace the performance of our machinery,” Willey said.

“Additional benefits to us aside from being able to access the data in real-time is that the technology removes the need for our service technicians to have to go to the machines to gather the information.

“It keeps people off the mine site and away from hazards.”

The solution enables a mine site to reduce costs by improving maintenance service efficiencies through immediate notification of faults and reducing downtime of equipment.

Thiess is also utilising the PAMS Tyre Manager technology, iVolve founder and chief executive officer Kim Parascos says.

“Using this technology allows our clients to be able to take preventative measure to avoid over heating and tyre blowouts.”

The iVolve technology is currently being used at Thiess’ Wilpinjong, Burton and Mt Owen operations.
